About Joanna

My love for yoga began 5 years ago after my first yoga class. I left feeling a deep connection to my body, like I had felt each posture from the inside out. Later I understood this as mind-body connection, and with it came a sense of safety. For the first time in my life, I allowed myself to slow down from everything in the past I’d been running from, and from the dreams I was relentlessly sprinting towards. Instead, I surrendered to all that the present moment has to offer. This ancient practice continues to fascinate me, by how our experience on the mat translates so beautifully to our experience day-to-day. In June 2023, I began my journey as a teacher in hopes that I, too, can create a safe space for others to feel in their bodies and to share the teachings that have brought so much light into my life. I hope to give my students my whole heart as I support them through creative sequences, curated playlists, spacious breath work, and soothing meditations so that we can tap into the subtle body. With a background in holistic nutrition and wellness, I also enjoy exploring intuitive and accessible approaches to mobility and movement.
